Vocal Training
We work with your own voice, using gentle vocal drills to build control, confidence and expression without forcing you to sound like someone else.
Principle 3
Breath Control
I teach you where to breathe, how to pace a verse and how to build stamina gradually, so longer passages feel more comfortable and your recitation stays composed.
Principle 4
Active Listening
You will learn to listen with purpose: noticing phrasing, transitions and tone in accomplished reciters, then applying those lessons to your own recitation.

Do I need to know Maqamaat before joining?
No. There are learning options for those starting with the fundamentals as well as students looking to develop further.
Will I still follow Tajweed?
Yes. Maqamaat is taught in the context of Qur’an recitation, with Tajweed remaining essential.
How long does the course take?
The programme lasts 18 months. You’ll stay with the same dedicated learning group, developing your recitation and progressing together.
How does the class work?
You’ll learn with the same dedicated group throughout the programme, building your skills together through online lessons and shared activities.
Is the course online?
Yes. You can learn online from wherever you are.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Every purchase has a 7-day money-back guarantee: email info@mounirinstitute.com within 7 days of purchase to request a refund. The £25 that holds your Applied Maqamaat place is different: it comes off your first month if you start, and is refunded in full if you are not offered a place or decide not to go ahead.
